Rev. Latum Zaung Khao

I, Rev. Latum Zaung Khao, was born into the Conservative Christian family on May 24,1970, where is in the police station of the Chipwe Township, at Myitkyina District, Kachin State, Myanmar. Both of my parent was a government staff. Now they are retired.

Currently I am living in 340/B, Ward-2, Waingmaw Township, Kachin State, Myanmar, am belonged in Lhaovo clan (Burma gazetteer recorded as Maru people and land), which is minority race from Kachin ethnic group, have been married Mrs. Labaw Lum Naw in 1996 April 24th.

Now with my family and I am serving fulltime pastor of Waingmaw Lhaovo Baptist Church. God blessed us with three children, Ms. Latum Khao Nao, Mr. Latum Khao Lum and Ms. Latum Khao Nan. I have been received ordained pastor in 2004 April 4 before congregation

In 1975, I started school at Basic Education Primary School in Waingmaw Township and due to the political situation in 1998, I dropped out of Basic Education High School. After out of school, I, accepted and believe in Jesus Christ as my Personal Savior and, was attending to study Lhaovo Bible Training School on September 1, 1989 and finished and received award of completion certificate from that Bible School in 1991. And then, I moved to Hanson Baptist Bible College from 1992 to 1996 and received Graduate Theology degree from that Bible College.

At about in the mid of December 1997, I was able to attend to the Extension Program of Asia Baptist Theological Seminary, thanks to the Rev. Dr. Mark Jackson and Rev.Dr. Gin Khen Mang&rsquo;s who is country coordinator contact and help a lot. I finished and received award of the Master of Christian Studies (MCS) from ABTS in 2003 and M.A (Interdisciplinary studies) in 2019.

On the other hands, armed conflicts happened again in our country since 2011 June, many church ministers and pastors shifted their ministry activities realms in a normal way to become more dedicated to supporting and protecting their vulnerable church members and congregations. I, myself have been among the ministers who have done also until today. To expand God&rsquo;s kingdom and serve for the good work of the Lord Jesus, I established the Dai Fin Social Services (DFSS) which is Christ-centered humanitarian organization and started working on humanitarian activities and communities&rsquo; development project since 2008. Now the organization has been able to travel for 14 years old and it is still actively operating as an official registered humanitarian organizations in Myanmar. I also praise the grace of God for giving us the opportunity to work for humanitarian assistances and sustainable development activities to serve for the vulnerable people with more than 50 employees under the shadow of various pressures and difficulties.
