About Me
I, Rev. Latum Zaung Khao, was born on May 24, 1970, in Chipwe Township, Myitkyina District, Kachin State, Myanmar, to a Conservative Christian family. My parents, both government staff, are now retired. I belong to the Lhaovo clan, a minority group within the Kachin ethnic community.
I'm married to Mrs. Labaw Lum Naw, and we have three children: Ms. Latum Khao Nao, Mr. Latum Khao Lum, and Ms. Latum Khao Nan. I've been serving as a full-time pastor at Waingmaw Lhaovo Baptist Church since my ordination in 2004.
I studied at Lhaovo Bible Training School (1989-1991) and Hanson Baptist Bible College (1992-1996), where I earned a Graduate Theology degree. I later attended the Asia Baptist Theological Seminary's Extension Program, earning a Master of Christian Studies (MCS) in 2003 and an M.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2019.
In addition to my pastoral work, I founded the Dai Fin Social Services (DFSS), a Christ-centered humanitarian organization, in 2008. Despite the challenges posed by armed conflicts in our country since 2011, DFSS continues to operate, providing humanitarian assistance and community development projects with a team of over 50 employees
I'm committed to:
- - Spreading God's love and word to my community
- - Serving the vulnerable and marginalized through humanitarian work
- - Empowering communities and promoting sustainable development
